Withdrawing My Identity from Lack

A Back to You Moon Reflection | June 2026

Each month, under the light of the moon, I pause to listen.

Not for predictions.

Not for certainty.

But for the quiet wisdom that helps us remember who we are.

These reflections are rooted in faith, nourished by the rhythms of nature, inspired by the beauty of Grenada, and offered as a gentle invitation to come Back to You.

“As I sit at my desk, I breathe into my tea and repeat this covenant as I drink in agreement.

I AM home.

And Love leads.”

There are Full Moons that invite us to release what no longer serves us.

Then there are Full Moons that invite us to remember who we have always been.

Tonight was not a night of becoming.

It was a night of remembering.

Earlier this evening, I stood quietly taking in the beauty surrounding me. The flowers danced gently in the breeze. The evening sky softened into brilliant colours as the sun prepared to rest. A single bird perched fearlessly at the very top of one of the tallest Ashoka trees in the yard.

For a moment, I felt as though heaven had quietly settled upon the earth.

Then an old story entered that beautiful moment.

Not through words.

Through a glance.

A woman I knew from years ago looked at me, and for a brief moment an old feeling returned—not shame, for I released shame a long time ago.

It was guilt.

Not the healthy guilt that reminds us to honour our commitments.

But the kind that quietly asks,

“Who are you to enjoy yourself while you still owe someone?”

How subtle.

How convincing.

How audacious.

And then something extraordinary happened.

Instead of believing the question, I questioned the question.

Why shouldn’t I be myself?

Why should my joy wait?

Why should my laughter negotiate?

Why should my presence shrink?

Who gave money permission to decide when I was allowed to feel fully alive?

The Audacity of Lack

Money is real.

Financial responsibilities are real.

Integrity matters.

Honouring our commitments matters.

This reflection is not an invitation to ignore any of those things.

It is an invitation to recognize when lack quietly begins to claim authority over our identity.

Over the years I noticed a pattern.

Whether I had a job or not.

Whether I was beginning a new business or closing one.

Whether I was stepping forward or stepping back.

I was often waiting for permission from money before giving myself permission to fully live.

Permission to rest.

Permission to create.

Permission to be visible.

Permission to choose healthy relationships.

Permission to celebrate.

Permission simply to be myself.

Somewhere along the journey, guilt crossed a boundary it had no right to cross.

It stopped asking,

“How will you honour your commitments?”

It started asking,

“Who are you until they are fulfilled?”

That is not wisdom.

That is the audacity of lack.

Because lack never stops at saying,

“You don’t have enough.”

Eventually it whispers,

“Therefore, you are not enough.”

Tonight, I withdrew my agreement.

When Relationships Reflect Scarcity

This evening another conversation gently revealed a deeper truth.

Sometimes scarcity is not only reflected in our bank account.

Sometimes it quietly shapes the relationships we remain willing to accept.

There were seasons when I stayed connected to people who could not truly celebrate me.

People who saw my usefulness before they saw my heart.

People who unintentionally—or perhaps unknowingly—made their needs larger than my own.

I recognized that I had often mistaken survival for belonging.

Tonight I lovingly release every relationship that required me to become smaller in order to feel secure.

Not with resentment.

Not with blame.

But with gratitude for what it taught me and with love for everyone involved.

Love does not always ask us to stay.

Sometimes Love quietly whispers,

“You are free now.”

The Cottage Became My Teacher

Only a few weeks ago, I did not yet know where I would call home.

I prayed.

I listened.

I asked questions.

I remained open.

I imagined one possibility.

Life quietly prepared another.

Tonight I write from a beautiful little cottage.

It is not perfect.

It is not one hundred percent complete.

There are still financial responsibilities waiting for my attention.

Yet tonight I discovered something I had not fully known before.

My peace does not come from perfect circumstances.

My security does not come from perfect finances.

My trust does not come from a beautiful building, although I deeply appreciate this home.

My trust is in God.

My trust is in the God within me.

My trust is knowing myself well enough to recognize the quiet guidance of Divine Wisdom.

And even when I do not immediately understand where that guidance is leading, I trust that it has carried me faithfully before.

It will carry me again.

Tonight I can honestly say,

I am safe.

I am secure.

I am provided for.

I am enough.

I am whole.

Not because every question has been answered.

But because I have stopped asking my circumstances to answer the question of who I am.

A New Covenant

Tonight I make a new covenant.

I will no longer ask money to tell me who I am.

I will no longer ask fear or guilt to determine how much of myself I am allowed to express.

I will honour every commitment I have made.

I will steward wisely what is entrusted to me.

I will continue building with integrity.

But I will no longer negotiate who I am in order to matter.

I withdraw my identity from lack.

I belong to Life.

I belong to Love.

I belong to God.

I belong to Truth.

My laughter is not a debt.

My peace is not collateral.

My presence is not on hold.

My calling does not wait for permission from fear.

I walk forward as one who is already home.

I AM

As the evening unfolded, I realized that my deepest release was never about money.

Money was simply the doorway.

The true release was remembering the sacred truth that has always been waiting beneath every fear.

I AM.

Not,

“I will be when…”

Not,

“I can be if…”

Simply,

I AM.

And because I AM, I already stand in enoughness.

I live from worthiness.

I live from wholeness.

I live from Home.

Back to You is the sacred return to the place where fear, guilt, lack, and the opinions of others no longer negotiate your identity.

This is freedom.

This is home.

Love Leads

Fear still exists.

Financial responsibilities still exist.

Questions about tomorrow still exist.

But so does Love.

Tonight I choose which voice will lead.

Not fear.

Not guilt.

Not lack.

Love.

Love that trusts.

Love that listens.

Love that honours.

Love that creates.

Love that releases.

Love that remembers.

As I sit quietly at my desk, I wrap both hands around a warm cup of tea.

I breathe deeply.

I drink in agreement with this covenant.

And with a full heart, I whisper,

I AM home.

And Love leads.
